Overview
Oversee quality systems, food safety programs, and regulatory compliance. Lead plant-wide initiatives for product quality enhancement, implement quality measurement programs, and manage product/ingredient specifications, web-based information systems, product audits, quality audits, and customer complaint resolution.
Position Responsibilities / Objectives
- Safety Compliance: Ensure personal and team safety in a manufacturing environment, maintaining full cognitive awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
- Food Safety Accountability: Oversee and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Food Quality Management: Maintain and enhance product quality standards across operations.
- Reporting: Promptly report food safety issues to authorized personnel for corrective action.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with line/department members to foster strong teamwork.
- Punctuality and Readiness: Arrive on time, prepared, and in proper uniform with required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Quality Improvement: Proactively develop and improve plant quality performance.
- Best Practices: Contribute to selecting and implementing best practice processes for food safety and quality systems.
- Quality Systems Maintenance: Update and refine quality procedures and systems as needed.
- QA Team Leadership: Supervise and manage Quality Assurance technicians.
- Auditing Oversight: Manage audits of all quality parameters, including incoming supplier specifications, production, warehousing, and shipping.
- Mock Recalls and Traceability: Conduct mock recalls and traceability exercises at least twice annually.
- HACCP Compliance: Perform HACCP audits, participate in the HACCP team, and lead HACCP meetings.
- Paperwork Compliance: Monitor plant documentation for compliance as required.
- GMP and Safety Audits: Perform monthly internal Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety audits for the entire facility.
- Customer Complaint Resolution: Address and follow up on customer complaints, tracking trends for continuous improvement.
- Cross-Department Communication: Facilitate effective communication among internal departments, teams, and external stakeholders.
- HOLD/RELEASE Program: Manage the HOLD/RELEASE program for product control.
- Audit Liaison: Serve as the primary contact for third-party, regulatory, and customer audits.
