Actalent seeks an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to oversee inspection and calibration personnel across shifts and maintain a robust document control system. You will manage audit activities, drive productivity, and lead training initiatives to ensure quality and compliance.

You will guide the QA and Manufacturing Engineering teams in developing methods, reports and corrective actions, while shaping supplier quality and warranty processes to improve product reliability.

Qualificações

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is required.
  • 5–7 years of manufacturing experience with at least 3 years in a quality role.
  • Leadership experience in a managerial or supervisory role; union environment experience is a plus.

Responsabilidades

  • Direct supervision of Inspector and Calibration Inspector personnel.
  • Manage the work group across all shifts and skills matrix for effective inspection and auditing.
  • Validate timecards and ensure productivity standards.
  • Train and evaluate new and transferred employees on responsibilities and competencies.
  • Operate the document control system for quality documents.
  • Control measurement gauges per contract and customer requirements.
  • Improve metrics for safety and 1+5S workplace organization.
  • Create and report operational metrics and use customer feedback for improvements.
  • Plan and operate non-conforming material processes meeting ISO 9001 and drive root-cause elimination.
  • Use statistical tools to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering for methods and procedures.
  • Engage Materials and Supplier Quality on issues affecting operations.
  • Control department expenditures for overtime and supplies within budget.
  • Follow and improve Quality Control Plans and PPAPs for new products.
  • Implement lean and error-proofing strategies on the production floor and support FMEA.
  • Supervise Quality Engineering for corrective actions and quality system advancement.
  • Support warranty administration and failure analysis with Product Support Manager.
  • Contribute to New Product Development and deliverables for NPD gates to improve reliability.

Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager
Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager who will oversee the inspection and calibration personnel. This role involves managing a diverse team across all shifts, ensuring effective auditing and inspection, and maintaining productivity standards. The ideal candidate will have the ability to train, evaluate, and supervise employees while operating a robust document control system and managing quality-related documents.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct supervision of Inspector and Calibration Inspector personnel.

  • Manage employee work group across all shifts and skill matrix to provide effective inspection and auditing based on work volumes.

  • Validate timecards and ensure productivity standards.

  • Train and evaluate new and transferred employees in job-related responsibilities and competencies through various training methods.

  • Operate the document control system to manage creation, revision, storage, and distribution of quality-related documents.

  • Control measurement gauges through a documented calibrated system per contractual and customer requirements.

  • Meet and improve metrics for employee safety and follow 1+5S principles for workplace organization.

  • Create and report on operational metrics for the work group and use internal customer feedback to drive improvements.

  • Plan and operate a non-conforming material process that meets ISO 9001 requirements and drive for root cause elimination of defects.

  • Use statistical analysis tools for identification of improvement opportunities.

  • Interact with Manufacturing Engineering to provide work methods and procedures for successful manufacturing operations.

  • Communicate and engage with the Materials Department and Supplier Quality on issues impacting manufacturing operations.

  • Control department expenditures for overtime and supplies, ensuring adherence to budget.

  • Follow and improve Quality Control Plans and PPAPs for new products.

  • Implement lean manufacturing and error-proofing strategies on the production floor, including support of Process FMEA completion.

  • Supervise Quality Engineering group for corrective action responses to customers and to advance the quality system.

  • Support product warranty administration and failure analysis with the Product Support Manager.

  • Engage in New Product Development and provide deliverable objectives to NPD gate reviews to improve product reliability and lower warranty costs.

Essential Skills
  • Bachelors degree in engineering or related field.

  • 5-7 years experience in manufacturing with a minimum of 3 years in a quality role.

  • Previous leadership in either managerial or supervisory role.

  • Experience in a union environment is a plus.

  • Data analysis and problem-solving skills.

  • Lean manufacturing and/or Synchronous Flow manufacturing knowledge and experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • ASQ certification preferred.

  • Spanish as a second language preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of North Mankato, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
