Confidential Search in Louisville, KY is seeking a hands-on Quality Manager to lead the plastics site quality function. You will drive product consistency, oversee QA/QC, lab operations, and supplier quality initiatives to strengthen customer confidence.

In this leadership role, you will partner with Operations and Engineering to minimize scrap, manage audits, and train personnel to uphold quality ownership across the plant in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• Five+ years of quality experience in plastics manufacturing including injection molding, polymer compounds, masterbatch/color concentrates, coatings, adhesives, sealants, or related materials.
• Experience with recycled resins, material variability, contamination control, color consistency, and mechanical testing is preferred.
• Strong experience with quality systems, root-cause analysis, data, and continuous improvement is essential.
• Experience with raw materials, laboratory testing, contamination control, ISO 9001 and polymer testing standards is preferred.

• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to improve process consistency, reduce scrap and rework, and control contamination.
• Support supplier quality, customer audits, new product qualifications, and employee training to build quality ownership across the plant.

This hands-on leadership role supports a plastics manufacturing site. You’ll lead the site’s quality function, improve product consistency, and work closely with plant teams to reduce scrap and strengthen customer confidence.

What we’re looking for:

• Five or more years of relevant quality experience in plastics manufacturing, including injection molding, polymer or rubber compounding, masterbatch/color concentrates, coatings, adhesives, sealants, specialty chemicals, or related materials manufacturing.
• Experience with recycled resins, material variability, contamination control, color consistency, and mechanical testing is preferred.
• Strong experience with quality systems, root-cause analysis, technical data, and continuous improvement is essential.
• Experience with raw materials, laboratory testing, contamination control, ISO 9001, and polymer testing standards is preferred.
