Kloeckner Metals Corporation in Columbus, MS is seeking a seasoned Quality Assurance Manager to lead QA for a brand new highly automated facility and ensure products consistently meet customer specifications.

You will oversee inspection procedures, drive ISO 9001 compliance, manage PPAP submissions and calibration programs, develop training, and lead a growing team of quality professionals while coordinating with Operations and Corporate Quality leadership.

Qualificações

• 8+ years in a quality management role, preferably in metal fabrication
• 4-year college degree or equivalent, preferably with technical/engineering focus
• Lead activities and reporting to gain and maintain IATF/ISO certification

Responsabilidades

• Oversee QA for a brand new highly automated facility in Columbus, MS
• Verify inspection procedures are accurate and compliant with QC standards
• Lead and manage a team of quality professionals to ensure parts meet customer specs
• Maintain and update quality standards and procedures; ensure staff compliance
• Support ISO 9001 compliance and assist during ISO and customer audits
• Oversee inspection of incoming/outgoing materials to confirm specs
• Evaluate rejected material and manage corrective actions to reduce waste
• Manage PPAP submissions to customers and ensure requirements are met
• Develop and implement training programs on QC procedures
• Manage gage calibration system; ensure proper calibration and maintenance
• Integrate new inspection technologies to improve accuracy and efficiency
• Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Manager or Corporate Director of Quality Management

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining quality control procedures and programs to ensure that customer expectations are consistently met. This role reports directly to the Operations Manager and has a dotted line reporting relationship to the Corporate Director of Quality Management.

This position will oversee all QA for a brand new highly automated facility currently being built in Columbus, Mississippi.

Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

• Inspection Procedures:Verify that inspection procedures used by all personnel are accurate and compliant with established quality control standards
• Team Management:Lead and manage a team of quality professionals to ensure that parts meet all customer specifications.
• Quality Standards:Maintain and update quality control standards and procedures, ensuring that all relevant personnel are informed and compliant
• ISO Compliance:Support the management team in maintaining ISO 9001 compliance and assist during ISO and customer audits
• Material Inspection:Oversee the inspection of incoming and outgoing materials to confirm that specifications are met
• Corrective Actions:Evaluate rejected material (both internal and external) and manage the corrective action system to reduce nonconformances and waste
• PPAP Submissions:Manage Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions to customers and ensure all requirements are satisfied
• Training Programs:Develop and implement programs to educate, train, and update all personnel on quality control procedures
• Gage Calibration:Manage the gage calibration system, ensuring that all gages are properly calibrated and maintained
• Inspection Technology:Integrate new inspection technologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency in the inspection process
• Other Duties:Perform additional duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or Corporate Director of Quality Management

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in a quality management role, preferably within the metal fabrication industry
• 4-year college degree or equivalent, preferably with a technical or engineering focus
• Lead activities and reporting to gain and maintain IATF/ISO certification

Familiar with customer/supplier PPM

Utilize quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, Control plans, 8D, 5 Why

Experience with Steel/Aluminumsurface inspection for exposed and unexposed automotive applications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Advanced skills in problem solving and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Experience in hiring, developing, and managing a team of quality professionals
• Proficient in using measurement tools such as calipers, height gauges, protractors, etc
• Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
• Strong computer and technical skills
• Familiarity with the ISO-9001 standard
• Excellent analytical abilities for assessing and resolving quality issues
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High attention to detail in all aspects of work
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills
• Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all inspection tasks
