Job summary

Laystrom Manufacturing in Chicago, IL is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality assurance and control in a fast-paced sheet metal fabrication environment.

You will ensure products meet customer specifications and safety standards, drive root-cause analysis, and coordinate with production, engineering, and leadership to foster continuous improvement.

This in-person role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of quality management experience, with ISO 9001:2015 knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, quality management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Relevant experience in quality management, quality assurance, or a similar role within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 or similar quality management systems preferred; ISO 9001:2015 lead auditor certification is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, inspection methods, blueprint reading, and quality control standards.

Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain, and improve quality control standards, procedures, and inspection processes to ensure product reliability and conformance to specifications.
• Work closely with production, engineering, purchasing, and leadership teams to align quality objectives with manufacturing processes and customer expectations.
• Lead investigation and resolution of quality issues, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
• Monitor fabrication processes, including cutting, forming, welding, machining, finishing, and assembly, to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
• Use data, inspection results, customer feedback, and internal metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Laystrom Manufacturing, an ISO9001:2015 Certified custom Sheet Metal Fabrication company, is looking for an experienced Quality Manager.

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading quality assurance and quality control activities within a fast-paced sheet metal fabrication environment. This position ensures products meet customer requirements, Customers specifications, safety standards, and applicable quality standards. The Quality Manager works closely with production, engineering, and leadership teams to resolve quality issues, improve processes, and support continuous improvement across the organization.
