Job summary

New Belgium Brewing seeks an experienced Site QA Manager to lead the site Quality Assurance team, ensuring product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across all stages of manufacturing and packaging.

You will partner with Brewing, Packaging, Operations, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Food Safety to embed quality into processes and drive data-backed decisions during anomalies, containment, investigation, and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least eight years of on-the-job QA experience.
• Expert knowledge in analytical chemistry, microbiology, and quality systems.
• Proven ability to lead QA teams and drive improvements in manufacturing quality.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direct supervision to Quality Assurance Scientists and/or Technicians.
• Provide technical guidance on product quality, corrective actions, and product disposition.
• Develop and implement innovative methods, SOPs, training, and tooling to support quality.
• Apply advanced methods (e.g., Design of Experiments) to solve problems and improve products/processes.
• Mentor and train employees and external partners in technical areas.
• Lead major projects and focused improvement efforts for quality.
• Set longer-term strategic direction for the Quality department and align with enterprise QA.
• Collaborate with site operations and enterprise QA to standardize quality practices.

Job description

The Site QA Manager is the site-level leader responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, safety, and regulatory compliance of products manufactured and packaged at the site. This position provides leadership to the site Quality Assurance team and partners closely with Brewing, Packaging, Operations, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Food Safety to ensure quality is built into every stage of the process. The Site QA Manager is a key decision maker, providing timely, data-driven decisions when quality or production anomalies occur. The role is responsible for appropriate containment, investigation, escalation, disposition, and corrective action while protecting the consumer and the business. This position also serves as a critical link between site operations and the enterprise QA organization, implementing enterprise quality standards while identifying opportunities to improve site performance, capability, and quality culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direct supervision to Quality Assurance Scientists and/or Technicians.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership on decisions concerning product quality, corrective actions, and product disposition.
• Develop and implements innovative, advanced methods for assigned areas including all supporting mechanisms (e.g., SOPs, training documentation/aids, tools, equipment, logs, databases, control charts, etc.).
• Apply advanced methods (e.g., Design of Experiments) and/or specialized skills and knowledge to solve complex problems and/or make improvements to products and processes.
• Mentor and trains others including NBB employees, customers, suppliers and/or industry professionals in area(s) of technical expertise.
• Lead major project and/or focused improvement efforts.
• Provides longer-term strategic direction and shorter-term detailed plans for Quality department.
• Participate in industry collaborative and external comparisons to validate NBB test methods.
• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent training and related work experience with a minimum of eight (8) years of on-the-job experience.

Required Skills

• Expert working knowledge of disciplines related to assignment (e.g., Analytical Chemistry, Microbiology, Sensory, Material Quality and/or Quality Systems).
• Well respected and recognized by peers in the industry as an expert in their field.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, deploy and improve assigned processes to industry leading or one of the best in the industry.

Pay range and compensation package

• Starting Salary Range: $80,000 - $102,500
• Wage information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is Bell's and New Belgium's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position.
