Job summary

Electromechanical manufacturing seeks a hands-on Quality Manager to join the shop floor leadership, actively performing inspections, guiding operators, and driving the Quality Management System on a daily basis.

You will lead a team of quality engineers and technicians, coordinate with Production, Engineering, Maintenance and Supply Chain, and ensure compliance with ISO standards and customer requirements, delivering measurable quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in manufacturing quality with 2+ years in leadership.

Responsibilities

Quality Manager – Manufacturing (Hands-On)

About the Role,

We are looking for a hands-on Quality Manager to join our manufacturing team. This is a working leadership role where you will be actively involved in day-to-day quality operations on the shop floor while also driving the overall Quality Management System. You will lead by example, working directly with production teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Take a hands-on approach to quality — regularly spending time on the production floor performing inspections, troubleshooting issues, and coaching team members in real time.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or equivalent standards.
• Directly lead, mentor, and work alongside a team of quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians.
• Oversee and personally participate in incoming material inspections, in-process quality checks, and final product validation.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) on the floor.
• Manage customer complaints, supplier quality issues, and conduct internal audits and layered process audits.
• Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to quickly resolve quality problems.
• Track and report key quality metrics (KPIs) while driving measurable improvements.
• Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, safety, and customer-specific requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• 5+ years of progressive quality experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong hands-on technical background — comfortable working directly on the production floor and engaging with operators and technicians.
• In-depth knowledge of quality tools and methodologies: Six Sigma, Lean, 5S, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, GD&T, and 8D problem solving.
• Certification as a Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Six Sigma Black Belt, or Lead Auditor is preferred.
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams while rolling up your sleeves and getting involved in the details.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with ERP systems and quality management software.
