Sierra Pacific Industries seeks a Quality Assurance Manager to lead lumber quality control across multiple California, Oregon, and Washington locations from our Anderson, CA base.

You will audit processes, coach mill teams in best practices, and ensure products meet grade specs and customer requirements, with frequent travel to field sites and a strong focus on safety and profitability.

Formación

• 5+ years’ experience in lumber quality control using optimizing scanners.
• 2 years’ supervisory experience in wood products or other manufacturing environment.
• Certified grader in Commons, Shop, Select and/or all NGR grades.
• Experience working with WWPA Quality Management System (QMS).
• Full understanding of grading association rule book.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a crew.
• Proven commitment to safety and Company policy.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities under demanding circumstances.
• Proficient in documentation, workflow, math computation, and computer technology.

Responsabilidades

• Manage lumber quality and grade recovery and optimization programs across 14 sawmills in CA, OR, WA.
• Work with local management to improve profitability and ensure products meet grade specs and customer requirements.
• Ensure safe workplace practices and promote safety awareness.
• Train staff on best practices to maximize lumber values, grade, and recovery.
• Audit manufacturing processes, identify nonconformance, and support root-cause analysis.
• Maintain relationships with Supervisors and Managers across the Company.
• Collaborate with mill management and sales on process improvements and customer feedback.
• Coordinate with inspectors from grading agencies.
• Oversee lumber quality and grade via scanners to maximize value.
• Identify, communicate, and troubleshoot production and quality issues.
• Travel frequently to sawmills across CA, OR, WA.
