Job summary

Bluegrass Ingredients seeks a Quality Manager to oversee QA programs, sanitation management, and regulatory compliance at our Springfield, KY facility. You will drive product quality, food safety, and continuous improvement in alignment with SQF, USDA, FSMA, FDA, and customer requirements.

Lead the QA and sanitation teams, provide technical guidance on HACCP and controls, monitor KPIs, and coordinate audits with regulators and customers. Willingness to travel 5-10% expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in food science or microbiology required or equivalent.
• 5+ years progressive Quality Assurance experience in food manufacturing (dairy, spray drying, or ingredient processing) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, USDA, SQF, FSMA standards, and sanitation principles.
• Experience managing sanitation programs and leading audit preparations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee QA programs, sanitation management, and regulatory compliance at the Springfield, KY facility.
• Lead plant-level QA initiatives and provide guidance on HACCP, preventive controls, and sanitation.
• Analyze trends from audits and customer feedback to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate pre-audit readiness, mock audits, and post-audit follow-ups with regulators and customers.
