Job summary

Thrive Freeze Dry is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulatory requirements. The role oversees quality staff in inspection, testing, audits, and documentation to support safe, high-quality products and cross-functional collaboration with operations.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, 5+ years in quality control roles, and certifications such as PCQI/HACCP/SQF.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quality Control Technician III, Lead, or in a comparable role.
• PCQI certification, HACCP certification, SQF certification, or equivalent preferred.
• Working knowledge of sanitation practices and cGMP requirements in a food manufacturing environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to understand technical training and apply it to the essential functions of the position.
• Basic math skills required.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn new tasks and procedures.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise quality staff in designated areas including Freeze Dry, Packaging, Environmental Monitoring, Pest Control, and Receiving.
• Lead audits and investigations related to quality events (NCRs, CAPAs, SCARs).
• Review deviations and approve changes; support mock recalls and product trace activities.
• Maintain the Document Management system and provide training to quality staff as directed.
