Job summary

Epredia in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a Quality Assurance Lab Technician to join our manufacturing quality and lab operations. You will perform laboratory testing, analyze samples, document results, and support product releases and investigations, in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

This role requires an AS or equivalent in Biological Sciences or Chemistry, at least 3 years of lab experience, and proficiency with lab equipment and MS Office.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Biological Sciences or Chemistry or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of manufacturing/life sciences lab experience.
  • Experience performing lab testing and documenting results.
  • Experience operating lab equipment and instruments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
  • Experience processing tissues or cytology samples preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing and inspections according to procedures.
  • Analyze samples, conduct experiments, and document results.
  • Review products and materials for conformance to specs.
  • Measure components and conduct quality inspections for defects.
  • Support investigations related to product releases and complaints.
  • Prepare and dispose of chemicals per safety rules.
  • Record data accurately in paper and electronic systems.
  • Maintain a clean, safe laboratory environment and GDP compliance.
  • Cross-train in additional lab functions as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of lab processes and quality.

Job Title: Quality Assurance Lab Technician

  • Reporting to the Quality Manager, the QA Lab Technician plays a key role in supporting manufacturing quality and laboratory operations to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • This role is responsible for analyzing samples, documenting results, maintaining laboratory equipment, and supporting product releases, customer complaint investigations, and research and development initiatives.
Location: Onsite, Portsmouth, NH. This position is on the 1st shift (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Mondays - Thursdays).
What You Will Do
  • Perform laboratory testing and inspections according to approved procedures and work instructions.
  • Analyze samples, conduct experiments, and accurately interpret and document test results.
  • Review products and materials during manufacturing to verify conformance to established specifications.
  • Measure components and perform quality inspections to identify defects or nonconforming materials.
  • Support investigations related to product releases, customer complaints, and research and development activities.
  • Process and prepare tissue and cytology samples using laboratory equipment and established procedures.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including, but not limited to microtomes, cryostats, microscopes, CO² incubators, laminar flow hoods, and autoclaves.
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and coordinating inventory of laboratory materials and supplies.
  • Prepare, organize, store, and properly dispose of chemicals and laboratory materials in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Record laboratory data and testing results accurately in both paper and electronic documentation systems following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment while adhering to all environmental health and safety requirements.
  • Cross‑train in additional laboratory functions to provide support across the Quality organization as business needs require.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory processes, product quality, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Associate degree (A.S.) or equivalent education in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of laboratory experience in a manufacturing, medical device, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or medical facility environment.
  • Experience performing laboratory testing using established procedures and documenting results.
  • Experience operating laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office and computer-based documentation systems.
  • Experience processing tissues or cytology samples preferred.
  • Moderate physical demands including ability to lift up to 25 lbs., bend, reach, climb ladders and stand for extended periods.

The hiring range for this position is: $22-$26/hr, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
