Schneider Electric is seeking a Quality Engineer Intern in Lincoln, Nebraska for Fall/Winter 2026. This part-time, onsite role requires being in the local area with no visa sponsorship or relocation assistance provided.

You will work with Quality Engineers and manufacturing teams on production floor quality, problem solving, and continuous-improvement activities, including PFMEA, control plans, and Gage R&R. Training will be provided and collaboration across shifts is expected.

Schneider Electric has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer Intern at our Lincoln, Nebraska location for the Fall/Winter 2026 semester. This is a part-time, onsite opportunity, so the ideal candidate will be located in the local area. No visa sponsorship or relocation assistance will be provided for this role.

What will you do?

As a Quality Engineer Intern, you will gain hands‑on experience supporting manufacturing quality, continuous improvement, and quality fundamentals on the production floor. You will work closely with Quality Engineers and manufacturing teams to identify opportunities, support problem solving, and help maintain quality standards.

• Support Quality Engineers with problem‑solving activities related to internal and external customer concerns, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement projects and the deployment of Quality Fundamentals within production.
• Assist with the development and implementation of PFMEAs, process control plans, and error‑proofing opportunities such as Poka‑Yoke and Jidoka.
• Support the review and effectiveness of quality controls and follow up on improvement actions.
• Assist with capability studies and Gage R&R studies.
• Support tooling and process recommendations to improve product and process inspections.
• Assist with PPAP activities, including organizing FAIRs and 3Fs, in partnership with sister plants.
• Support monthly quality reporting, including Cost of Poor Quality and Red Tag reporting.
• Work closely with Quality Engineers, manufacturing hourly and salaried employees, and other cross‑functional teams.
• Participate in production floor walkthroughs and Gemba activities to identify process abnormalities, gaps to standards, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support Layered Process Audits (LPAs) and Quality Fundamentals self‑assessments.

Training & Development

You will receive hands‑on training and guidance from the Quality Engineering team while learning how quality tools and processes are applied in a manufacturing environment. Depending on business needs and your level of experience, you may also have opportunities to support:

• Stop Work processes
• Poka‑Yoke validation
• First‑part approval processes
• Check‑Do‑Check processes
• Non‑conformance management
• Rework processes
• Layered Process Audits (LPAs)
• Quality Fundamentals and continuous improvement activities

What qualifications will make you successful?

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• Interest in manufacturing, quality, continuous improvement, and problem solving.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work with data.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and interact with employees across different levels of the organization.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Previous experience with manufacturing, quality, engineering projects, or continuous improvement is a plus.
• Familiarity with quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone/Cause‑and‑Effect, Six Sigma, PFMEA, Control Plans, or Gage R&R is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD $23 to $27.50 per hour. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
