Job summary

Cox Enterprises in Atlanta is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer intern to learn hands-on QA testing across the software development lifecycle. You will evaluate requirements, assist with test design, and help ensure software quality before release.

You will collaborate with delivery teams to create and maintain automated test scripts using Tosca, track coverage and defects, and grow your professional skills under mentoring from experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in CS/CE/IS or related discipline
• Strong interest in software quality assurance and testing practices

Responsibilities

• Gains familiarity with QA concepts, practices, and methodologies.
• With guidance, performs standard QA duties, including reviewing requirements and functional specifications.
• Reviewing documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance and completeness.
• Using QA methods and tools to audit, test and ensure quality of various software applications.
• Executing, updating and maintaining test plans and test cases.
• Developing automated test scripts.
• Tracking test coverage and defect metrics.
• Troubleshooting and triaging of issues.
• Using bug tracking systems to report defects or design flaws to project teams and developers.
• Documenting and escalating issues as appropriate.
• Writing and organizing test review documentation.
• Assists manager and team colleagues on selected projects.
• Develops progress reports and communicates project status to manager and project stakeholders.
