Job summary

Falcon Plastics is seeking a QA Inspector to perform tests and measurements ensuring products meet customer quality specifications. You will inspect parts, submit samples for testing, and verify labels for lot and part numbers at startup.

You will also use calipers, pin gauges, height gauges, and CMMs, identify nonconforming parts, and document inspection data for shift comparisons. Training and support for new inspectors are provided as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Ability to conduct tests and measurements to verify customer quality specifications.
• Proficiency with QA measuring instruments and data interpretation.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspection processes.

Responsibilities

• Inspects parts to determine compliance with customer quality spec and Falcon Plastics standards.
• Submits samples of parts for quality testing.
• Verifies material lot and part numbers at startup by examining labels.
• Selects parts for appearance tests at various production stages and notes any nonconformities.
• Records inspection data and reviews against prior shifts, ensuring quality standards are met.
• Identifies and isolates non-conforming products.
• Retains samples in the QA library for reference.
• Communicates issues to incoming shift QA personnel and QA supervisors.
• Provides input on process improvements and quality assurance recommendations.
• Assists in inspecting purchased parts and assess acceptability.
• Trains new QA inspectors and provides guidance to operators and technicians.
• Has authority for dispositioning products at Level 2.
• Adjusts schedules for overtime and responds to call-ins.
