Job Description

Amphenol Pcd is looking to add a temporary Quality Assurance Inspector - Level II to our Beverly, MA team!

Job Summary:

Inspect product to ensure incoming electrical, in-process, and final inspection material meets internal and customer requirements. Work with production to meet the needs of our internal customers.

Summary of essential job functions:
  1. Complete mechanical, visual, and electrical incoming, in-process, and final inspections for cable assemblies and existing legacy products.
  2. Maintain quality records using quality data collection software or logs.
  3. Fill out records for suspect material.
  4. Transfer product using ERP system.
  5. Support RMA/MRB activities as required.
  6. Perform inspections in multiple areas of operation.
  7. Perform First Article Inspection (FAI).
  8. Identify and solve problems, communicate findings clearly using photos, PowerPoint, and data.
  9. Perform duties efficiently, maintaining an above-average pace.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, depth gauges, microscopes, optical measuring equipment, scales, rulers, tape measures, and gage pins.
  • Ability to read and follow procedures or work instructions in English.
  • Intermediate understanding of 2D engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge/experience with soldering standards like IPC-620 and J-Std.
  • Experience with optical comparators and/or Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
  • Experience with Manufacturing Requirement Planning (MRP) systems.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with staff at all levels.
  • Knowledge of random sampling techniques.
  • Ability to check dimensions in both decimal and metric units.
  • Experience with WinSPC or similar database systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to read and understand advanced engineering drawings.
  • IPC 620 certification.
  • Experience with shelf life and hazardous material labeling.
