Job summary

R.M. Chin & Associates, Inc. seeks a dedicated Quality Assurance Inspector III to join our onsite team at DFW International Airport, Dallas, TX.

The role covers inspection of contractor work and real-time reporting on multiple projects. You will analyze codes, monitor installations, prepare IDRs, and collaborate with PM/CM to ensure conformance with plans and FAR 139 where applicable. Airport experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (civil/structural) or equivalent certification.
• Or ten years of construction experience in MEP/HVAC, paving, soils/aggregates, PCC work, bridges, inspections, etc.
• Special Inspectors will provide inspections on structural steel, concrete, or masonry per building codes.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
• Airport/Aviation construction experience required.
• Prior experience at DFW airport is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes applicable codes, standards and specifications, and monitors construction activities for compliance with the Inspection and Testing Plan.
• Monitors field construction installations per applicable specifications.
• Performs general inspection of construction work for compliance with contract documents.
• Prepares Inspectors Daily Reports (IDRS) for DFW and completes inspection checklists.
• Assist the DFW Quality Assurance Manager to monitor Contractor Quality Control (CQC) performance.
• Interfaces with PM/CM management on quality issues.
• Documents quality issues that result in an Issue or NCR.
• Assist in verifying worksites comply with FAR 139, if applicable.
• Inform the DFW QA Coordinator of issues in real time.
• Inspects material for contract compliance, approves submittals and field orders.
• Uploads progress photos.
• Executes the Inspector Daily Report (IDR) at end of shift and attaches to weekly timesheet in Unifier.
• Provides troubleshooting to advance QA issues to PM/CM teams.
• Interacts with PM and CM teams to resolve project issues.
• Monitors project schedule and flags delays.
• Provides issue resolution recommendations and ensures actions are carried out; corrective actions within 10 days of NCR.
• May attend weekly PD QA meetings.
• Coordinates with QC personnel and DFW Code Inspectors for complete inspections.
• Reviews contractor DFOW pre-activity meetings.
• Coordinates labor interviews per DFW wage policy.
• Provides technical field construction expertise.
• Other duties as assigned.

Take your career to the next level with us! R.M. Chin & Associates, Inc. (R.M. Chin) is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Inspector III to join our team! The inspector is responsible for construction quality assurance inspection, surveillance, and documentation on multiple concurrent construction projects. The position serves as the onsite technical representative for inspection of contractor construction activities, daily coordination with contractor quality control, and recommending acceptance of completed work based on the specifications. All QA Level III positions will act under the supervision of the DFW Quality Coordinator, assigned to the project, as directed by the DFW Quality Assurance Manager.

Qualification Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline, such as civil or structural engineering, or equivalent certification from a recognized organization;
• And / or ten (10) years equivalent construction experience in areas like MEP/HVAC, paving, soils and aggregates, PCC work, bridges, construction inspections, etc.
• Special Inspectors will also provide detailed inspections on structural steel, concrete, or masonry in accordance with applicable building codes.
• The ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing).
• Experience with Airport/Aviation construction is required.
• Prior experience at DFW airport is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyzes applicable codes, standards and specifications, and monitors construction activities for compliance with the Inspection and Testing Plan.
• Monitors various field construction installations in accordance with the applicable specifications.
• Performs general inspection of construction work for compliance with contract documents.
• Prepares Inspectors Daily Reports (IDRS) for DFW and fills out appropriate inspection checklist for specific work under their oversight.
• Assist The DFW Quality Assurance Manager to monitor Contractor’s implementation of Contractor Quality Control (CQC) program by monitoring the performance.
• Interfaces with PM/CM management teams on all quality related issues.
• Document any quality related issues that result in an Issue or Nonconformance Report.
• Assist in the verification that various worksites are compliant with FAR 139, if applicable.
• Inform the DFW QA Coordinator of issues in real time.
• Inspects material for compliance with contract documents, approves submittals, and field orders.
• Provides and uploads progress photos.
• Execute the Inspector Daily Report (IDR) at the end of each shift and attach them to the weekly timesheet in Unifier.
• Provides troubleshooting measures that will progress QA related issues to the PM/CM teams.
• Interacts with the PM and CM teams to collaborate resolutions to project issues.
• Monitors project schedule activities and identify when work activities are not taking place.
• Provide issue resolution recommendations and ensure that those actions are carried out, and/or ensure that a corrective action plan has been stated as part of the Issue or NCR within 10 days of issuance.
• May be required to attend weekly PD QA meetings to discuss issues.
• Coordinates with the Quality Control personnel and the DFW Code Inspectors that activities requiring Code inspections are complete and ready for inspection.
• Review of the contractor developed DFOW pre-activity meetings.
• Coordinate and conduct the labor interviews in accordance with the DFW wage rate policy.
• Provide technical expertise in field construction activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
