Job summary

A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co. is seeking an quality inspector to join our manufacturing team in Tennessee. The role focuses on inspecting machined parts, finished assemblies, and received materials to ensure they meet established standards.

Daily duties include using gauges, calipers, and measurement devices; performing QA checks, leak tests, and torque evaluations; and participating in shop floor process audits. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Team player with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Inspect parts and assemblies with gauges and calipers.
• Perform QA checks including leak tests and torque checks.
• Inspect incoming materials.
• Participate in work center process audits.
• Calibrate gauges and tools used in production.
• Perform SPC and CMM checks.
• Assist with training proper inspection techniques to co-workers.

Duties and responsibilities include the inspection of machined parts, finished assemblies, and received parts and castings consistent with established standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily Duties:

• Inspection of parts and assemblies produced throughout the facility using gages, calipers, and other measurement devices.
• Daily QA checks such as leak tests, torque machine and grease applicators, taper checks, and groove checks.
• Inspection of incoming materials.
• Participate in work center process audits.
• Inspection and calibration of gages and tools being used.
• Perform SPC and CMM checks.
• Assist with training of proper inspection techniques to production co-workers.
