Job summary

D-J Engineering is seeking a detail‑oriented Quality Assurance Inspector to join our team on2nd Shift. This role focuses on benchtop and tabletop dimensional inspection of precision aerospace components, verifying compliance to customer blueprints and engineering specs using hand tools, PCMs, and fixtures.

Key responsibilities include inspecting raw, in‑process, and finished parts, interpreting GD&T, and maintaining accurate inspection records in an AS9100 environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of hands‑on bench or tabletop inspection experience in a quality assurance environment (aerospace or precision manufacturing background preferred).
• High proficiency with standard shop floor measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, indicators, depth gauges, height stands).
• Hands‑on experience performing dimensional verification using check fixtures and PCMs.
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex aerospace engineering drawings, blueprints, shop travellers, and standard GD&T callouts.
• Ability to work Monday through Friday from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM, with flexibility for extra hours during peak production demand.
• Outstanding accuracy, record-keeping skills, and a commitment to maintaining rigorous quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform tabletop and bench inspections on raw, in‑process, and finished aerospace products, including precision machined details, sheet metal fabrications, and formed components.

• Inspect parts using custom check fixtures, holding fixtures, and PCMs.
• Troubleshoot inspection discrepancies and use customer engineering documentation to identify opportunities for valid product acceptance.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, customer specifications, and GD&T requirements to determine part compliance.
• Identify, document, and segregate non‑conforming materials in accordance with standard quality procedures.
• Maintain clear and accurate quality records, inspection logs, and documentation in compliance with AS9100 standards.

D-J Engineering is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Inspector to join our team on 2nd Shift. This position strictly focuses on benchtop and tabletop dimensional inspection of precision aerospace components. In this role, you will verify the compliance of complex machined details and formed sheet metal parts using standard shop floor hand tools, PCMs, and check fixtures against customer blueprints and engineering specifications.

Shift: 2nd Shift (Monday – Thursday, 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform tabletop and bench inspections on raw, in-process, and finished aerospace products, including precision machined details, sheet metal fabrications, and formed components.
• Setup and utilize precision hand tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, depth gauges, indicators, bore gauges) to perform detailed dimensional checks.
• Inspect parts using custom check fixtures, holding fixtures, and PCMs.
• Troubleshooting & Product Acceptance: Proactively troubleshoot inspection discrepancies and utilize all available customer engineering documentation (blueprints, specifications, model data, and acceptance standards) to identify opportunities for valid product acceptance.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, customer specifications, and GD&T requirements to determine part compliance.
• Identify, document, and segregate non-conforming materials in accordance with standard quality procedures.
• Maintain clear and accurate quality records, inspection logs, and documentation in compliance with AS9100 quality assurance standards.

• Schedule & Availability: Ability to work Monday through Friday from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM, with flexibility for extra hours during peak production demand.
• Attention to Detail: Outstanding accuracy, record-keeping skills, and a commitment to maintaining rigorous quality standards.
