Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated in Westbury, NY is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to support daily operations, inspections, and continuous improvement in manufacturing. The role is an on-site hourly position; starting salary is $20/hour and candidates must be local to Westbury, NY.

You will perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of electronic assemblies, verify conformance to drawings and specs, and document findings in the quality system.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and electronics assembly/inspection experience.
• IPC-A-610 certification required.

Job Overview

Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for supporting daily operations, ensuring quality standards are being met, and improving the manufacturing process by removing waste and change. The role supports production, quality assurance by identifying defects, documenting findings, and helping drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. This is an hourly position and the candidate must be local to Westbury, NY. We are not interviewing any out of state candidates for this role. Starting salary @ $20/hour.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and inspection of electronic assemblies, including SMT and through-hole components.
• Perform final inspection of finished product to ensure product is compliant to sales orders and customer requirement.
• Inspect PCB assemblies using microscopes, magnification tools, and measurement devices.
• Evaluate solder joints, component placement, polarity, labeling, and workmanship in accordance with IPC-A-610 Class 2/3 criteria.
• Review work orders, assembly drawings, BOMs, and specifications to verify compliance.
• Document inspection results clearly and accurately using company quality systems.
• Verify rework and repairs performed according to IPC-A-610 and related standards.
• Support incoming inspection of electronic components as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment following ESD and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 2-5 years of experience in electronics assembly or inspection.
• IPC-A-610 Certification.
• Strong understanding of SMT, through-hole, and mixed technology assembly processes.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
• Familiarity with ESD procedures and safe handling of electronic components.
• Proficient in documenting findings and using quality control software or systems.
• Background in ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
• Experience in manufacturing environments such as aerospace, defense, medical, or industrial electronics.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and various applications utilized for productivity.
