Overview

Quality Assurance Engineer - Remote role at Builders Capital. Builders Capital is the nation's largest private construction lender, offering financing solutions for Acquisition, Development, Construction, and Bridge financing, including single-asset loans, portfolio loans, and revolving credit facilities. The company provides borrowers with access to material purchase discounts, project management, accounting, and BIM technology tools. Builders Capital is headquartered in Puyallup, Washington, with regional sales offices nationwide.

We are searching for a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to ensure the quality and functionality of our software products through rigorous testing processes. You will plan, design, write and execute tests to identify defects, ensuring an excellent user experience. You will work with cross-functional teams to understand project objectives and implement testing across all use cases, applying analytical problem-solving and strong communication to contribute to our software products.

What You’ll Do
  • Test Planning and Execution: Develop, document, and execute detailed test cases, scripts, and plans for software applications. Perform functional, regression, integration, and acceptance testing across platforms and environments.
  • Defect Identification and Reporting: Identify, track, and report defects and issues; collaborate with the development team to facilitate effective resolution.
  • Automation: Develop and maintain automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency; utilize tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Postman, JUnit, TestNG) to automate regression tests.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure software meets quality standards and user requirements; participate in automation code reviews to maintain code quality.
  • Performance and Load Testing: Conduct performance, load, and stress testing to ensure the software handles expected traffic and usage scenarios.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and defects, with traceability between requirements, tests, and results.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience: Typically 5+ years as a QA Engineer or similar role, with hands-on manual and automated testing; experience with testing frameworks and project management tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, Postman, Asana).
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of programming languages such as C#, Java, or JavaScript; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git); experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, k6).
  • Fintech familiarity is a nice-to-have.
