Job summary

Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support the development and implementation of QA processes ensuring products meet quality, reliability, and performance standards.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform inspections and testing, and maintain documentation. Responsibilities include reviewing prints and drawings, documenting inspection results, supporting PPAP submissions, and assisting with customer quality concerns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints for metal manufacturing.
• Proficiency with inspection tools and measurement equipment.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviews prints, specs, and drawings for design intent and standards; evaluates dimensions and tolerances affecting fit and durability.
• Documents inspection results and deviations; collects/analyzes production data for quality metrics; assists with problem resolution.
• Evaluates processing methods of moderate complexity to determine capability to meet customer requirements; suggests process improvements.
• Collaborates with production and engineering to resolve quality issues and communicate customer quality requirements; provides technical support.
• Addresses customer complaints; visits customer locations to support quality concerns and investigates product quality issues.
• Prepares and submits required PPAP information, warrants, control plans, ISIRs, raw material certifications, and related documentation.
• Supports first production runs for proper quality and process controls; participates in FMEA and control plans.
• Assists workers with measurements and data collection on materials and processes; supports quality audits and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

A bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

At least one year of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience using inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

The ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications related to metal manufacturing.

Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to evaluate results and determine whether products meet requirements.

Clear communication skills and the ability to prepare reports, procedures, and other technical documentation.

A sharp eye for detail, a practical approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively with different teams.
