Job summary

Sechan Electronics, Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer III to manage and support QA activities for circuit card assembly, cables, and electro-mechanical assembly on DoD contracts.

You will lead QA planning, FAI, FRACAS, nonconforming material disposition, and supplier audits to ensure compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements. The role requires experience with defense programs, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Job description

The Quality Assurance Engineer III manages and supports daily activities for all quality aspects related to circuit card assembly, cables, and electro-mechanical assembly for specific program(s) or for a specific Customer's contract(s).

Position Responsibilities:

• Manages all of the Quality Assurance requirements of assigned projects including but not limited to Contract and Requirements Reviews, Quality Planning, Control Plans, First Article Inspection (FAI), Floor Support, Product Release, and Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS).
• Plan, develop, and executes processes to ensure projects operate in accordance with AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) and Quality Assurance related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), customer contractual requirements, Quality Clauses, FARs, and DFARs.
• Write necessary plans, procedures, reports, and presentations to communicate with internal and external customers.
• Evaluate and disposition nonconforming material.
• Responsible for managing Customer Complaints, investigating, and documenting Root Cause, and Corrective Action Reports for assigned projects.
• Perform and document all tasks for First Article Inspection in AS9102 Format
• Read technical drawings and create or evaluate engineering changes.
• Use standard measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gages, etc)
• Performs process and supplier audits and participate in process improvement.
• Support Management through creation, improvement, and maintaining of processes and procedures.
• Develop skills required to act as corporate Subject Matter Expert (SME). Possible areas: PWB Fabrication, Soldering, CMM, GIDEP, Reliability and Maintainability (RAM), ERP or Quality software.
• Support bidding activities and proposal writing as assigned.
• Mentors other Quality Assurance Engineers on project and professional responsibilities.
• Performs other duties as assigned to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of this organization.

Skills & Abilities:

• Prior experience with on DoD programs or meeting Military specified requirements, Military or Aerospace Quality System rules, regulations, standards, including planning and implementation.
• Excellence communication skills and organizational abilities.
• Excellence customer service skills and focus required.
• Ability to complete a wide range of tasks of moderate complexity using good technical judgement and critical thinking.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of statistics, probability, algebra or scientific notation.

Qualifications:

• One of the following:
• o Bachelor of Science degree an Engineering field, and 8+ years of experience in an Engineering or Quality role
• o Associates Degree in technical field and 18+ years of experience in an Engineering or Quality role,
• o ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and 20+ years of Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
• Ability to pass vision acuity exam per J-STD-001

Work Environment:

• Office Environment: Requires physical capability to work in an office environment including sit/stand up to 9 hours a day, lift 30 lbs, and use basic office tools such as a computer, copier/printer, etc. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Hours: 1st Shift; with additional hours as needed to meet demand. Occasional off-shift hours may also be required to provide support to operations.
• 9/80 work schedule.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Office located in Lititz or Lancaster, PA facility with periodic visit to other facility.
