Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Quality Engineer to establish, implement, maintain, and enforce quality system processes supporting test and flight ground systems. You will measure and improve quality performance, integrate applications across engineering, PM, and operations, and lead root-cause analyses with diverse teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum BS in Engineering/Science (Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical preferred).
  • 1–3 years’ proven experience in Quality, Engineering and/or Ground Support Systems in a program management environment.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 QM systems and related quality programs.
  • Familiarity with codes and standards (ACI, AISC, AWS, ASTM, ASME, NEC, NFPA).
  • Excellent communication skills, organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter.
  • Ability to support program management schedules and overtime as needed.
  • U.S. citizenship, permanent resident, or qualified to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute project-specific QA/QC plans with scope of work and procedures.
  • Coordinate QA/QC plan with project safety plan and stakeholders.
  • Maintain relationships with contractors, subcontractors, architects, consultants, and vendors for compliant QA/AC plan.
  • Conduct testing and inspections, arrange third-party testing, analyze results.
  • Review anomalies and non-conformances from fabrication, modification, and testing activities.
  • Lead ground system acceptance reviews and maintain acceptance processes.
  • Serve as QA lead on Anomaly Review Board meetings for nonconforming work.
  • Facilitate troubleshooting of quality issues with diverse teams and drive root-cause/corrective actions.
  • Provide QA support across multiple programs and work centers.
  • Ensure compliance to program requirements through surveillance and process control.
  • Apply knowledge from startup environments to transition products from development to fabrication and operations.
