RTX is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer for our White Sands Missile Range location in New Mexico. This onsite role requires collaboration across quality, operations, supply chain and engineering to ensure products meet customer and end‑user objectives.

Responsibilities include inspecting mechanisms, performing QA activities, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100. Applicants must be U.S. citizens capable of obtaining a security clearance.

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of two (2) years’ Quality Engineering experience.
  • Working experience with industry standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100 Quality Management Systems
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) to join the team at our White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), NM location.

This position is an onsite role.

What You Will Do
  • Assure product quality and effectiveness throughout all life‑cycle phases.
  • Collaborate closely with quality, operations, supply chain, and engineering personnel.
  • Ensure programs and core processes meet customer/end user objectives.
  • Close quality issues through application of quality sciences and teamwork.
  • Inspect test mechanisms and conducts quality assurance activities.
  • Monitor and/or audits program operations or core processes.
  • Grow others knowledge of quality standards, methods, and procedures.
  • Proactively interact with team, management, and the customer.
  • Ensure completion of required documentation, identification of nonconformance and noncompliance, resolution and closure of open issues, and ensure quality and configuration of program assets.
  • Flex work across quality disciplines and provides surge capability to programs during key events.
  • Assess work products to identify and eliminate in-/out- phase defects.
  • Perform data analysis to drive root cause and correction action.
  • Participate in test preparation and execution to ensure requirements verification.
  • Review risk and opportunity data to lead projects to eliminate or reduce risks and/or realize opportunities.
  • Investigate failures, participate in failure review boards, support failure investigation teams and drive root cause analysis.
  • Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and agile work environments.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001 and AS9100 requirements.
  • Work long hours and/or weekends, when required, to meet program and mission’s objectives.
  • Work in a field environment.
  • Travel to and work in remote sites (domestic and international) to support program requirements.
  • Works in hazardous environments exposed to energized equipment, radar radiation hazards, and unexploded ordnance.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of two (2) years’ Quality Engineering experience.
  • Working experience with industry standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100 Quality Management Systems
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification.
  • Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action processes and resources.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense development and or test programs as a quality engineer.
  • Previous experience as a quality engineer in a field test environment.
  • Experience with Radar Systems, Effectors (missiles, rockets, etc.), and systems-of-systems testing.
  • Domain knowledge in field‑testing.
  • Ability to review, analyze, and ensure compliance of Technical Data Package elements to standards and guidelines.
  • Ability to influence without authority, experience with cross-functional teams.
  • Effective networking and presentation skills across, down, and up in a matrixed team environment.
  • Working experience with missile assembly and inspection.
  • Working experience with Patriot Systems and ammunition trained.

Onsite : Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
