Location - Irvine, CA | Hybrid (2 days on-site per week)

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate QA Engineer with extensive API testing and cloud validation expertise to join a high-impact engineering team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in shaping the quality standards for modern MarTech solutions that power customer and loyalty programs across digital platforms. You'll work at the forefront of testing distributed microservices and cloud-based applications, ensuring robustness and reliability of systems that handle personalized campaigns, offer management, loyalty rewards, and CRM integrations.

The ideal candidate thrives in collaborative environments, working cross-functionally with architects, developers, analysts, and product managers to deliver quality-first solutions. This position offers the opportunity to leverage AI tools for enhanced productivity while contributing to test strategy and coverage for innovative marketing tools and promotion engines. You'll split your time 60/40 between manual testing and automation, with automation responsibilities growing over time as you help define the MarTech testing roadmap.

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end and integration testing across distributed microservices and cloud-based platforms
Author and execute detailed manual test cases while contributing to evolving automation coverage
Own validation of API workflows, contracts, and payloads to ensure system robustness and reliability
Automate API tests using Postman and Python, integrating with CI/CD pipelines when appropriate
Validate data integrity across AWS services including SQS, S3, and DynamoDB
Collaborate cross-functionally with architects, developers, analysts, and product managers on quality-first solutions
Contribute to comprehensive test strategy and coverage for new marketing tools, promotions engines, and CRM integrations
Leverage AI tools to solve problems efficiently, reduce repetitive tasks, and enhance productivity across test execution and reporting
Work independently to identify testing requirements and scope without step-by-step guidance
Help define and execute the MarTech testing roadmap for global brand customer experiences

Required Experience/Skills

8-10 years of QA experience with solid understanding of software testing lifecycle
Strong API testing skills using Postman, including test scripting and workflow chaining
Proficiency in writing and understanding Python-based API automation scripts
Working knowledge of AWS services (SQS, S3, DynamoDB) for backend validation and event-driven testing
Ability to read API contracts, construct diverse payloads, and validate responses independently
Experience with manual testing methodologies combined with drive to automate processes
Familiarity with AI-based tools for test planning, defect triage, automation, and repetitive tasks
Self-starter mindset with strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Experience testing distributed systems and microservices architectures
Nice-to-HavesPrior Point of Sale (POS) testing experience
Familiarity with Docker, container orchestration, or performance testing tools
Experience testing microservices architectures in production environments
Background in marketing technology or customer engagement platforms

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field preferred
