Job Description
IAP Government Services Group is a Construction Management firm with an immediate opening for a QAQC Specialist. Our successful project performance is driven by our objective to deliver quality projects that are completed on time and within budget, exceeding client expectations.
Position Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inspections of site work and building construction, document discrepancies, code violations, improper materials, or poor workmanship. Monitor schedules to identify and mitigate delays, and coordinate project phasing.
- Review submittals and RFIs, maintain accurate job files including as-built drawings and specifications, identify delays, and recommend corrective actions.
- Participate in weekly progress meetings to monitor project status, discuss issues, and resolve problems.
- Review and approve/disapprove testing and inspection reports.
- Maintain thorough records of all construction-related matters and perform daily quality control reports.
- Maintain defect and omission logs, prepare punch lists, and coordinate resolutions.
- Work after normal hours, including nights from 5 pm to 7 am and weekends, as required.
- Ensure installed work aligns with approved submittals and recommend final approvals.
- Utilize computerized management systems for RFI processing, material inventory, and monitoring material usage.
- Observe subcontractor work for proper installation and application of materials.
- Review equipment and material samples for construction use.
- Maintain mark-ups of project plans and specifications for future as-built drawings.
- Compile deficiency logs and follow up on corrections, coordinate inspections, testing, and commissioning.
- Document progress with digital photos throughout the project.
- Manage close-out activities, including warranty and O&M documentation.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or minimum 5 years of combined experience in roles such as Project Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager, or Construction Manager on similar projects.
- At least 2 years of experience as a QC Manager.
- Experience in hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.
- Strong knowledge of site and vertical construction methods.
- Ability to review federal contract documents, plans, specifications, and FAR.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, and Procore (5 years).
- Excellent technical writing, note-taking, and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication, organizational, safety, and teamwork skills.
- Prior experience with Construction Management, General Contracting, Architectural, or Engineering firms is a plus but not required.
