The Practice Improvement Specialist oversees Practice Improvement Case Reviews (PICR) and Child and Family Services Reviews (CFSR). Responsibilities include managing review schedules and logistics, case selection, conducting detailed case reviews, coaching staff, providing feedback, facilitating meetings, reviewing PICR instruments for accuracy, negotiating ratings, and submitting reports within deadlines.
This role monitors and analyzes regional performance data, facilitates discussions with managers and supervisors on process improvements, and collaborates with various department teams to analyze trends and improve practice outcomes. It may also involve conducting supervisory functions, mentoring staff, and participating in committees to enhance practice and safety.
Remote work options within Arizona may be available based on department needs and performance.

One year of supervisory experience in Arizona DCS is preferred.
Education and experience: Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree plus four years of relevant child welfare experience or two years of similar review experience from another jurisdiction.
Must obtain and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and clearance from the DCS Central Registry. Driving is required.
