Job summary

Steico Industries, Inc. in Missouri seeks a Quality Assurance Associate I to support product quality in manufacturing. You will conduct internal audits, maintain the Quality Management System, and analyze data to verify compliance with quality objectives.

Responsibilities include drafting procedures, controlling documents, scheduling calibrations, training staff, and coordinating RCCA meetings. You will also assist Environmental Health & Safety activities and handle non-conforming material,

Qualifications

  • 1 year QMS-related experience or training preferred.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 standard is advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with employees at all levels, verbally and in writing.
  • Basic math skills and some geometry used in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Quality Management System by developing and revising procedures, work instructions, forms, charts and quality assurance reports.
  • Conduct internal audits per the Audit Schedule; review documentation; complete reports; provide training to personnel; ensure compliance with the QMS.
  • Prepare and complete customer surveys by collecting, analyzing, and reporting data.
  • Document control: verify certificates of conformance; scan and index documents.
  • Maintain calibration of assets; schedule calibration; coordinate with owners; monitor calibration performance; initiate containment and corrective actions.
  • Provide support to Environmental Health & Safety activities.
  • Control non-conforming material; perform RCCA; authorize customer returns; coordinate with Finance for necessary credits.
  • Other duties as needed by business/operational requirements.

PM Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00AM – 3:30PM

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 an hour depending on experience

As a Quality Assurance Associate I, you will:

Conduct internal audits, documentation, data analysis, control of non-conforming material, authorization of customer returns, and support overall product quality in manufacturing. Compile data, validate compliance of quality objectives, identify needs for improvement and/or preventative action, and to provide overall assistance in the maintenance of the Quality System and its supporting processes.

What will my responsibilities include?

  • Maintain the Quality Management System by developing and revising procedures, work instructions, forms, charts and quality assurance reports.
  • Conduct internal audits in compliance with the Audit Schedule, review all necessary documentation pertaining to the scheduled audit and its applicable areas, complete all Reports and Check Lists, provide training to personnel of area being audited, work with the Quality Director and/or Designee to ensure overall compliance to the Quality Management System.
  • Customer Surveys: Prepare and complete by collecting, analyzing, and reporting data.
  • Document Control, verify certificate of conformance, Scan and Index documents into system.
  • Maintaining compliance of all calibrated assets, issue PO.s and schedule calibration testing. Coordinates with equipment owners and departments to issue and control all scheduled equipment due for calibration to prevent use of out of calibration equipment. Monitor calibration schedule to ensure necessary equipment is properly calibrated in a timely manner. Works closely with calibration contractors to schedule and perform calibration activities. Review equipment specifications for the appropriateness of all preventive maintenance requirements. Collect, report, and monitor calibration performance metrics. Initiate and report any out of tolerance results. Work with equipment owners to initiate and support investigation of all calibration results for equipment found out of tolerance.
  • Provide support to Environmental Health & Safety activities.
  • Control the non-conforming material. Using a variety of inspection methods to determine if a non-conforming condition exists. Perform root cause and corrective action analysis as required. Conduct daily RCCA meeting with manufacturing, engineering and QA personnel to determine the disposition of product. Create reports to monitor trends. Authorize customer’s request for product return. Conduct investigation, coordinate RCCA meetings and provide containment and corrective action response to the customers. Collaborate with other departments such as Finance to credit a customer if necessary, etc.

Other reasonable duties as business and operational needs dictate.

What key skills and experience do I need?

  • Experience: 1 year Quality Management System related experience, education and/or training preferred.
  • Experience/knowledge of equipment, machines, tools, etc: General knowledge of Tube and Duct Manufacturing. Working knowledge of the AS9100 standard.
  • Communication and language skills: Requires the ability to communicate and interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization, both verbally and written.
  • Mathematical skills: Basic addition, subtraction, and multiplication. Some geometry used in tube and duct manufacturing is preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Intermediate working knowledge in MS Office suite.
  • Reasoning ability: Requires ability to assess facts and develop conclusions
  • Other Abilities: Conscientious and responsible, Detailed oriented and a results driven approach, Strong Organization Skills, Work in team environment

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
