Quality Assurance Applications Engineer

Position Overview

MetalQuest is seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Applications Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate has a passion for precision machining, quality, eye for detail, and a drive for continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to work with state‑of‑the‑art machinery, in a supportive and family‑oriented environment, where flexibility is valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist CNC Machinists with onboarding of new parts and projects
  • Assist CMM programmers with program creation and onboarding of new parts and projects
  • Assist in trouble shooting machining related issues
  • Assist in evaluating and reworking non‑conforming product
  • Interpret measurement results and assist with making appropriate process adjustments
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure precise machining operations.
  • Conduct quality inspections of machined parts to verify conformance to customer requirements and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with team members and engineering staff to troubleshoot issues and implement process improvements.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a machinist in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of various machining techniques and tooling.
  • Basic understanding of CNC programming
  • In depth understanding of Coordinate Measuring Machines
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., Solidworks) preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
  • Willingness to provide leadership and work in a team‑oriented environment.
  • Train operators and help troubleshoot.
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Starting Rate

$35 - 45 / Hour

Working Environment
  • This position requires the use of protective eye equipment at all times while on the production floor.
  • This position operates in a standing position for 75% of the time.
