Job summary

TempWorks Software is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to join the Software Development Team. The QA Analyst will determine testing needs, document test plans, and perform manual testing across a complex product suite.

You will design test cases, identify gaps, and ensure quality through comprehensive regression testing and collaboration with engineers and analysts. Required 2+ years QA experience, SDLC understanding, and ability to read coded scripts (XML/SQL/JQuery).

Qualifications

Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, or similar.
Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Ability to read and understand coded test scripts such as XML, SQL, JQuery.
Knowledge of hardware devices including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
Experience with agile issue tracking systems (Azure DevOps, JIRA).
Experience using test management tools (TestRail, Selenium, qTest).
Organized with high attention to detail.
Able to work in a collaborative, agile, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Quality Assurance Analyst Job Description

Job Summary:

At TempWorks, the Quality Assurance Analyst is a part of the Software Development Team. The QA Analyst is responsible for determining testing needs, documenting test plans for the team’s development efforts, and performing manual testing on a complex suite of products.

General Responsibilities:

Design and develop test cases independently with detailed test goals, test steps, and expected outcomes
Determine testing approach and identify test coverage gaps within product functionality, performance, accessibility, UI, and security
Operate as sole quality representative for agile scrum team(s)
Participate in backlog refinement and all scrum ceremonies
Prioritize, plan, and identify testing needs to ensure continuous improvement to product quality; collaborate with project team as appropriate
Create comprehensive test data covering all test scenarios and configurations identified during planning efforts
Develop database queries in order to validate expected results of test cases
Execute manual test cases and test scripts to verify functionality is meeting business requirements
Consult with QA staff and management to create and manage all testing artifacts (test cases, test plans, test suites, and product-wide regression testing documentation)
Perform smoke tests and manual regression testing
Partner with the QA Engineer to identify gaps in automated testing coverage and test documentation
Perform code reviews on automated tests to ensure they meet the documented testing requirements
Design and document comprehensive test plans for large-scale projects
Report and document issues found with detailed replication steps, images/videos, logs, environment details, and expected outcomes
Advise QA management on production release decisions
Consult with Software Engineers, Business Analysts, and other development team members on testing strategies for the team’s initiatives
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities:

Education and Experience:

·Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred

·2+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, or similar experience

·Understanding of software development lifecycle

·Ability to read and understand coded test scripts such as XML, SQL, JQuery

·Knowledge and experience with various hardware devices including desktops, laptops, and Android/iOS mobile devices

·Experience working within an agile issue tracking system such as Azura DevOps, JIRA, or others

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times

Compensation and Benefits:

The pay range for this role is: $48,000 - $68,000.
