Job summary

Apexon Technology seeks an experienced Quality Assurance Analyst in Washington, DC to join our technology services team. You will lead testing efforts across manual and automated regimes, performing UAT and API testing, validating data formats, and ensuring quality through production validation and traceability of requirements.

Bring 5–7 years in tech or software development, strong SQL and data validation skills, experience with Postman/SoapUI, and comfort with Agile and Waterfall

  • Experience creating and executing manual test scripts.
  • Experience creating and maintaining automated test scripts.
  • Experience performing Customer Acceptance Testing or User Acceptance Testing.
  • Experience documenting test results and maintaining test artifacts.
  • Experience performing smoke, regression, functional, and production validation testing.
  • Experience working with CSV, XML, and JSON data formats.
  • Experience working with relational databases.
  • Strong SQL knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with API testing using Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools.
  • Experience with software test management.
  • Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Hands on experience with test automation tools.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business processes and software requirements
  • Develop manual and automated test scripts based on requirements
  • Perform Customer Acceptance Testing and User Acceptance Testing
  • Execute test cases and document results
  • Perform production validation through smoke, regression, and functional testing
  • Validate functionality after releases and production changes
  • Create and maintain test plans, scenarios, and cases
  • Perform API testing using Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools
  • Validate data files and formats including CSV, XML, and JSON
  • Work with relational databases and execute SQL queries for data validation
  • Develop and execute automation scripts using automated frameworks
  • Support test management across Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Collaborate with developers, BAs, PMs, and stakeholders to resolve defects
  • Track defects, document evidence, and communicate testing status
  • Support production releases and post deployment validation
  • Maintain testing documentation and traceability between requirements and tests
  • Utilize Office 365 tools for documentation and planning
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency through automation and AI-assisted testing

Role Overview:

We are seeking experienced Quality Assurance Analysts with 5 to 7 years of experience in technology or software development. The ideal candidates will have strong experience in requirements analysis, manual and automated testing, user acceptance testing, production validation, API testing, test automation, and test management.

The role requires the ability to create and maintain comprehensive test artifacts, validate production releases, work with structured and unstructured data formats, and collaborate effectively within Agile and Waterfall development environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Elicit, analyze, and document business processes and software requirements
  • Develop detailed manual and automated test scripts based on business and technical requirements
  • Perform Customer Acceptance Testing and User Acceptance Testing
  • Execute test cases and document test results and supporting test artifacts
  • Perform production validation through smoke testing, regression testing, and functional testing
  • Validate application functionality following releases, enhancements, and production changes
  • Create and maintain test plans, test scenarios, test cases, scripts, and execution results
  • Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools
  • Validate data files and formats including CSV, XML, and JSON
  • Work with relational databases and execute SQL queries for data validation
  • Develop and execute automation scripts using available automation frameworks and tools
  • Support test management activities across Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, project managers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve defects
  • Track defects, document test evidence, and communicate testing status
  • Support production releases and perform post deployment validation
  • Maintain testing documentation and ensure appropriate traceability between requirements and test cases
  • Utilize Microsoft Office 365 tools to support documentation, reporting, planning, and workflow activities
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency through automation and AI assisted testing practices
Required Skills:
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in technology or software development

Scripting Skills:

  • Experience supporting large scale enterprise or government technology projects
  • Experience with requirements traceability and comprehensive test documentation
Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
