Wonder is seeking a Quality Assistant Operations Manager to uphold food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance in a high-volume culinary manufacturing and warehouse setting. You will partner with Production, Sanitation, Warehouse, and Operations leadership to protect product integrity and ensure standards are met.

The Quality Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for supporting food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance within a high-volume culinary manufacturing and warehouse environment. This role ensures that all production, handling, storage, and distribution activities meet established food safety standards and regulatory requirements.
This role partners closely with Production, Sanitation, Warehouse, and Operations leadership to maintain product integrity, ensure regulatory compliance, and support a culture of food safety across the facility. This role plays a critical part in protecting product quality, maintaining operational readiness, and ensuring that food safety standards are consistently followed. Up to and including completing all other duties as assigned.
This role operates within a culinary manufacturing and warehouse facility where associates work around production equipment, refrigerated storage areas, and fast-paced operational workflows. Strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and safety protocols is required.
Support daily quality and food safety operations across production and warehouse areas
Conduct routine inspections to verify compliance with food safety and quality standard
Monitor adherence to food safety procedures including hygiene, sanitation, allergen control, and temperature management
Perform pre-operational inspections to confirm sanitation readiness prior to production start
Identify food safety risks, quality issues, and compliance gaps and elevate when necessary
Lead quality and food safety discussions during operational huddles
Ensure compliance with FDA, HACCP, GMP, and other regulatory food safety requirements
Maintain and review food safety documentation including logs, records, and inspection reports
Support internal and external food safety audits and regulatory inspections
Monitor corrective actions to ensure compliance issues are addressed promptly
Verify that all associates follow proper food handling, storage, and preparation protocols
Monitor production processes to ensure product quality and consistency
Conduct product checks for labeling accuracy, packaging integrity, and product specifications
Investigate product deviations, defects, or quality concerns and coordinate corrective actions
Track quality metrics including defect rates, product holds, and corrective actions
Partner with operations teams to improve product quality and reduce waste
Partner closely with Production, Sanitation, Warehouse, and Operations teams to ensure food safety alignment
Communicate food safety risks, quality concerns, and compliance updates to leadership
Participate in operational meetings and food safety reviews
Track and report key quality and compliance metrics
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to food safety and product quality
Lead from the floor by maintaining a strong presence to ensure food safety and quality standards and resolve issues in real time
Reinforce accountability by driving compliance with food safety regulations, quality standards, and operational procedures across all shifts
Provide leadership, training, and development for quality and food safety associates, including onboarding and certification
Coach teams on food safety best practices, quality expectations, and continuous improvement opportunities
Foster a positive, collaborative culture where food safety and product quality are shared responsibilities
Communicate priorities, risks, and updates clearly while escalating food safety concerns promptly
Partner cross-functionally with Operations, HR, and Sanitation to maintain compliance and operational alignment
Own food safety and quality performance by leveraging audits, data, and insights to drive continuous improvement
At least two years of lead, supervisor, assistant manager, or related leadership experience in food safety, quality assurance, or food manufacturing
Experience leading frontline teams in a fast-paced operation
Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, and food safety compliance requirements
Experience working in high-volume food production or manufacturing environments
Strong leadership and coaching skills
Ability to analyze quality issues and implement corrective actions
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Ability to work flexible schedules as operational needs require
HACCP certification or food safety certification preferred
Experience in culinary manufacturing, commissary kitchens, or food production facilities preferred
Experience supporting regulatory audits and food safety inspections preferred
Bilingual preferred
18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US
Able to lift, pull, and push 50 pounds of weight by oneself
Able to stand for extended periods
Able move between production, warehouse, and quality inspection areas
Ability to read and comprehend safety policies and operational manuals in English; ability to communicate effectively with team members and follow verbal instructions to ensure a safe and productive work environment
Ability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to work in varying temperature zones including cold environments for extended periods

Salary Range: $62000 per year - $71500 per year
