Job summary

Commercial Tool Group in Comstock Park, MI seeks a Quality/Project Engineer to transform customer requirements into repeatable manufacturing quality on the floor and in data. You’ll partner with Quality leadership, plant teams, and customers to keep parts moving and meeting specs.

Responsibilities include leading APQP, PPAP submissions, ASQ Core Tools, and root-cause analysis, while ensuring audit-ready documentation and customer portal compliance. 3+ years in auto manufacturing preferred.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering (or related) and 3+ years in automotive manufacturing decisions.
  • IATF 16949 experience; PPAP/APQP & Core Tools required; Minitab/IMDS a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead APQP activities; define requirements, plans, and acceptance criteria.
  • Build and sustain AIAG Core Tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA) and submit PPAPs.
  • Interpret blueprints/CAD; apply GD&T and statistical methods (SPC, R&R).
  • Run root-cause problem solving and permanent corrective actions.
  • Maintain objective quality evidence and lessons learned; support internal audits.

Own the Quality

As a Quality/Project Engineer, you’ll be the driving force that turns customer requirements into rock-solid, repeatable manufacturing quality-right where it counts: on the floor and in the data. You’ll partner closely with Quality leadership, the Plant team, and customers to keep parts moving and meeting spec.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead APQP activities; define requirements, plans, and acceptance criteria
