Job summary

Commercial Tool Group is seeking a Quality/Project Engineer to translate customer requirements into repeatable manufacturing quality on the shop floor and in data.

You will partner with Quality leadership, the Plant team, and customers to keep parts moving and meeting spec, applying APQP/PPAP and core tools, GD&T, and statistics for process control. This role focuses on audits, data-driven decisions, and sustained improvement.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering (or related) + 3+ years in automotive manufacturing decision-making.
  • IATF 16949 experience; PPAP/APQP & Core Tools required; Minitab/IMDS/Internal Auditor a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead APQP activities; define requirements, plans, and acceptance criteria
  • Build and sustain AIAG Core Tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA) and submit PPAPs
  • Interpret blueprints/CAD; apply GD&T and statistical methods (SPC, R&R)
  • Run root-cause problem solving and permanent corrective actions
  • Maintain objective quality performance evidence and lessons learned; support internal audits
  • Own customer portals, customer-specific requirements, and special characteristics

As a Quality/Project Engineer, you’ll be the driving force that turns customer requirements into rock-solid, repeatable manufacturing quality—right where it counts: on the floor and in the data. You’ll partner closely with Quality leadership, the Plant team, and customers to keep parts moving and meeting spec.
