Quality and Non-Destructive Testing Engineer I

Job Summary

Join our team in Cleveland, OH as a Quality and Non-Destructive Testing Engineer to support and enhance our quality systems. Assist with non-destructive testing (NDT) processes, collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve safety, quality, yield, and throughput. Engage in testing, data analysis, and product quality improvement. Support budgeting, installation, and startup of NDT equipment. Exceed customer requirements through effective problem-solving and corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support continuous improvement of all NDT equipment in the plant
  • Provide technical support by learning processes, troubleshooting, and leading NDT testing teams
  • Maintain internal NDT certification program to comply with customer requirements
  • Develop procedures and processes for NDT testing
  • Collect and analyze data from NDT testing to quantify product quality
  • Meet or exceed customer requirements by supporting product development, investigating claims, and resolving issues with corrective actions
  • Ensure a safe and positive work environment through safety programs and policies
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's in Engineering or equivalent
  • 1+ years related experience
  • Skills: Manufacturing processes, computer proficiency, effective communication, strong analytical abilities
  • Knowledge: Statistics, data analysis, project management
  • Interest in ASNT Level III certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering
  • Level III PCN per ASNT ACCP, ISO 9712, EN 4179 or AIA NAS 410
  • NDT/NDE previous experience
  • Black or Green Belt in Continuous Improvement
  • Experience with testing equipment and output
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with Statistical Software (Mini-Tab & Tableau)
  • Experience in manufacturing quality and nondestructive test methodologies involving eddy current, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, electromagnetic or other methods
  • Steel manufacturing experience
