Job summary

Vista Care in Pierre, SD seeks a Quality and Compliance Leader (Full-Time) to drive quality improvement and ensure regulatory compliance across multiple programs/states. You will lead investigations, monitor quality indicators, coordinate audits, and guide safety initiatives with a data-driven approach.

The role requires 4+ years of relevant experience, knowledge of process improvement methodologies, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Leads continuous quality improvement, training, and accreditation/licensure/survey/policies in IDD service and customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluates and identifies key drivers for systemic deficiencies, and takes a systematic, data-driven approach to maintaining and improving safety and quality.
  • Oversees committee functions for assigned regions.
  • Completes and/or directs investigation processes, including debriefs, tracking, root cause analysis, corrective action follow-up, and remediation monitoring closure.
  • Prepares and coordinates activities for external audits, surveys, state compliance reviews, and corrective action planning.
  • Completes and/or directs internal monitoring activities, including mock surveys, program snapshots, environmental reviews, on-site visits, and compliance monitoring.
  • Completes and/or directs satisfaction surveys and quality of life surveys.
  • Monitors EHR and quality management system utilization and compliance; analyzes incident trends and operational data to inform improvements.
  • Completes and/or directs policy/addendums for assigned regions.
  • Compiles and analyzes data for regions, dashboards, incident trends, and performance indicators.
  • Prepares and facilitates weekly operational quality meetings.
  • Achieve performance competence.
  • Performs quality reviews across all programs and identifies trends in defects or errors.

Job Title: Quality and Compliance Leader, Full-Time Exempt
Department: Quality
Reports To: Quality Manager

Job Summary

The Quality & Compliance Leader serves as a member of the Quality team by leading efforts associated with Vista Care’s compliance and quality improvement programs and initiative to multiple programs in multiple states.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leads continuous quality improvement, training, and accreditation/licensure/survey/policies in IDD service and customer satisfaction
  • Evaluates and identifies key drivers for systemic deficiencies, and takes a systematic, comprehensive, and data-driven approach to maintaining and improving safety and quality
  • Oversees committee functions for assigned regions
  • Completes and/or directs the investigation process, including immediate debriefs, investigation tracking, root cause analysis, corrective action follow-up, final debriefs, and remediation monitoring closure
  • Prepares and coordinates activities for all external audits, external surveys, state compliance reviews, and corrective action planning related to findings
  • Completes and/or directs the completion of internal monitoring activities, including mock surveys, program snapshots, environmental reviews, on-site visits, and compliance monitoring to identify areas of opportunity
  • Completes and/or directs the completion of satisfaction surveys and quality of life surveys
  • Monitors EHR and quality management system utilization and compliance; analyzes incident trends, medication errors, investigations, and operational data to inform and improve services
  • Completes and/or directs the completion of policy and/or addendums for assigned regions
  • Compiles and analyzes data for regions as requested, including dashboards, incident trends, investigation findings, and operational performance indicators
  • Prepares and facilitates weekly operational quality meetings

Authorization must be provided to Vista Care to obtain a DMV record which can be approved for coverage by our company insurance carrier.

Education
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • A college, or university degree or the equivalent is required. Social services or similar fields preferred. However, five (5) or more years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk, bend, push, pull and lift repetitively during work hours
  • Variable weekly hours to support operational needs including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness to travel overnight up to 50%
  • Successful applicant(s) will be required to travel to the various programs as assigned under the direction of Vista Care leadership which may include across various states.
  • Primarily time spent in home-like, residential settings with varying degrees of background noise.
  • The possibility of exposure to blood borne pathogens exists if universal precautions are not followed.
  • May require working under stressful conditions at times and handling emergencies.
  • There will be pressure at times to meet scheduled appointments and deadlines and manage crisis situations.
