Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking a Lab Technician to perform virology assays supporting manufacturing, release, and regulatory studies. The role requires adherence to GLP and regulatory procedures and involves routine aseptic testing and data entry.

The position includes maintaining reagents, assisting with laboratory testing, and contributing to continuous improvement projects, with flexible hours including overtime as needed. A biological sciences or chemistry background is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or chemistry required.
• One to two years of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and basic virology techniques is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory procedures using aseptic technique to support testing and release of product.
• Maintain testing reagents and supplies.
• Assist/perform assigned laboratory testing and data entry in LIMS.
• Apply cGMP to assigned work and review documentation for accuracy.
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP) and participate in troubleshooting.

Position Summary:

• Schedule and conduct virology assays to support manufacturing activities, product release, and compliance/stability studies while following GLP, QO and Regulatory procedures.
• Hours: 1st Shift. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform routine laboratory procedures using aseptic technique in compliance with SOPs to support testing and release of product.
• Maintain testing reagents and supplies.
• Assist/perform assigned laboratory testing.
• Apply cGMP to assigned work.
• Review documentation for accuracy/completeness.
• Compile and report laboratory test results.
• Assist in laboratory investigations.
• Alert supervisory personnel of known/suspected quality problems.
• Initiate maintenance work orders when needed.
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP).
• Learn and comply with regulatory requirements (USDA, FDA, EU).
• Verify and validate data entry in Laboratory Information Management Systems.
• Participate in troubleshooting and problem solving for routine tests/processes.
• Communicate effectively between departments, shifts, and employees.

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences/chemistry.
• One to two years relevant experience.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and basic virology techniques.
• Competent using Window-based applications.

Technical Skills and Competencies:

• Required: Basic virology and microbiology techniques and knowledge; aseptic technique; excellent organization; verbal and written communication.
• Preferred: Experience with mammalian cell culture and viral assays; GLP documentation.

Physical Position Requirements:

• Manual dexterity; close-vision work.
• Occasional need to sit/reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and overtime.
