Job summary

ChampionX, now part of SLB, seeks a Quality Assurance Associate at our Sugar Land Chemical Plant in Sugar Land, TX. This role focuses on QA testing, GLP documentation, and coordinated communication with Production and QA leadership.

You will perform precise QC data recording, maintain lab inventory, prepare reagents, and uphold safety practices. 12-hour shifts including nights and weekends are required; strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Chemistry or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Basic computer skills to operate and document QA tests.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to don a respirator and wear fall protection when required.

Responsibilities

• Promptly performs reports and records all QA procedures and test results accurately.
• Applies Good Laboratory Practices to record and file raw test data and related paperwork.
• Communicates results and dispositions to Production and QA Supervisor as required.
• Calculates and recommends batch adjustments to Production Reports and informs QA Supervisor of issues.
• Maintains inventory status of reagents and equipment to keep the lab fully operational.
• Prepares lab standard reagents and calibrates equipment on a regular basis.
• Keeps detailed records and maintains control charts and trend data.
• Maintains a clean, safe lab environment and supports other shifts as needed.

What Will You Do:

• Promptly performs reports and records all Quality Control procedures and test results in a precise and accurate manner
• Applies Good Laboratory Practices to accurately record and file all raw test data, including pertinent paperwork -e.g./ chromatograms, graphs, spectra, and test results.
• Communicates results and dispositions to Production and QA Supervisor as required
• Calculates and recommends batch adjustments to Production Reports promptly all problems regarding procedures, equipment, products, raw materials, specifications, etc., to the QA Supervisor or designate, as well as other QC Chemists
• Maintains inventory status of reagents, equipment, etc. in order to keep the lab at full operational capacity
• Prepares lab standard test reagents and performs standardization on reagents and calibration of equipment on a regular basis.
• Keeps detailed records and maintains control and/or trend charts
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work environment and assures smooth operation of the QA Laboratory by communication, planning and preparation in support of other shifts

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Chemistry or a related field or relevant work experience
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work 12 hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must have the ability to don a respirator
• Must have the ability to wear fall protection, if necessary
• No immigration sponsorship offered

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a quality control setting at a chemical manufacturing facility a plus

Physical Demands:

• Able to lift and carry 50 pounds
• Have the ability to bend, squat down, and reach above your head
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders
