Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC seeks a qualified Behavioral Health Specialist to join mobile crisis management across Alamance, Person and Caswell counties in North Carolina. The role includes crisis response, linkage to services, and support for daily living and skill-building activities.

A 24/7 on-call element and collaboration with law enforcement may be involved. The candidate must hold a Qualified or Associate Professional credential or be licensed or provisionally licensed, with relevant crisis

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years full-time crisis population experience or
  • Bachelor's in Human Services with 2+ years full-time crisis population experience or
  • Master's degree or higher with 1+ years full-time crisis population experience

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate relationships and act as a link between the company, families and local agencies
  • Minimize psychiatric symptoms and substance-use impact on daily living
  • Provide supportive counseling and skill-building activities
  • Coordinate first-responder resources on a 24/7/365 basis
  • Perform case management linking and referrals
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to standardize procedures and support PCP implementation

Seeking Qualified and Associate Professionals and/or Licensed or Provisionally Licensed individuals with experience providing crisis response services. MCM is a 24 hour/365 days service so there will be a variety of shifts available. Come join a dynamic agency in the development of this important service to your communities!Trained Crisis Responders support individuals and law enforcement to identify and deescalate people experiencing a behavioral health crisis or who are in need of detox services, assess for level of care, and link with appropriate services. The goal of Mobile Crisis Management is to help people address their treatment needs and connect with community based services, and avoid unnecessary hospitalization or contact with the justice system.Position Requirements:: Must meet the requirements of a Qualified or Associate Professional OR a Licensed or Provisionally Licensed Clinical Professional in NC. Must have at least one year of crisis service experience.Job ResponsibilitiesAdditional responsibilities of the Behavioral Health Specialist include:Facilitating relationships and serving as a link between the company, parents, guardians, local agencies and the communityMinimizing the negative effects of psychiatric symptoms or substance dependence that interfere with the recipient’s daily living and personal development, providing supportive counselingSupporting the client in the development of various skill building activities, including: daily and community living skills, socialization skills, adaptation skills, and behavior and anger managementParticipating in a first responder on-call system available to consumers and/or his/her natural support network on a 24/7/365 basis; coordinates “first response\" resources according to consumer need and the PCPPerforming Case Management functions of linking and arranging for services and referralsWorking closely with other clinical/professional staff to maintain communication and providing feedback, standardizing procedures and expediting PCP implementationMonitoring utilization of service to ensure that it is effective, appropriate, and within the limits set forth in both rule, PCP, and the service authorizationCandidates for the Behavioral Health Specialist role are considered “Qualified Professionals\" based on the following criteria:Education:Bachelor Degree (Not Human Services field) & 4+ years full-time experience with population servedORBachelor Degree (in Human Services field) & 2+ years full-time experience with population servedORMaster’s Degree or Higher & 1+ years full-time experience with population served.ANDLicense, Provisional License, Certificate, Registration, Permit issued by governing board regulating human service profession.Definitions:Human Service Degrees Include: Social Service, Sociology, Psychology, or other Human Service Degrees.Populations Served Include: Mentally Ill-Child, Mentally Ill- Adult, Substance Abuse-Adult, Substance Abuse-ChildPre-employment screening:Complete criminal backgroundName checked in the registries.
