Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a PRN Qualified Medication Aide to join the team at Miami Correctional Facility in Bunker Hill, IN. The role involves supporting nursing staff to administer medications, document dosages, and monitor patient conditions in a corrections setting.

Required are a High School Diploma/GED, QMA certification, CPR certification, and ability to obtain security clearance. Prior acute/long-term care or correctional experience is preferred; shift type is PRN per diem.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) certification required
• Must have graduated from a training program and have a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) certification
• Must be appropriately and actively certified in CPR
• One (1) year of experience in acute care, long-term care, emergency, or correctional environment preferred
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check

Responsibilities

• The Qualified Medication Aide works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or other medical staff and is responsible for assisting nurses by following written and/or oral instructions to administer medications and document drug dosages and times of administration.
• The QMA takes vital signs, assists in examinations and treatments, and assists patients with activities of daily living.
• The QMA must monitor patients to report changes in their conditions.
