Job summary

Parker Health and Rehab in Parker City, IN is seeking a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to ensure resident comfort and safety through medication administration and daily care. You will document medications, assist with treatments, and help maintain a secure med cart in a compassionate, respectful environment.

The role requires Indiana CNA certification, completion of approved med administration training, and current QMA certification. Join our team and contribute to high-quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Must be certified by the Indiana State Department of Health as a CNA in good standing.
• Must have completed a state approved training program in medication administration and have current QMA certification by the Indiana State Department of Health.
• Have a thorough understanding of the principles of safe effective nursing practices within the State of Indiana.
• A high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• The QMA is responsible for providing the medication administration, daily care, health needs, safety and comfort of the residents.
• QMA’s administer and document oral medications, eye medications, topical medications, suppository medications, ear drops and all others as ordered by the physician
• Perform treatments on minor skin conditions per physician orders
• Maintain locked medication cart and medication keys according to facility policy
• Check catheters frequently and providing catheter care as assigned by the nurse
• QMA’s will document all medications and treatments given in the medication record and in the nurses notes according to policy
• Maintaining the confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure residents rights and privacy are protected at all times
• Performing other duties as assigned by staff nurse or designee

Education

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in good standing - Indiana

State-approved medication administration training

Current QMA certification - Indiana

High school diploma or GED
