Job summary

Rocky Mountain Assisted Living seeks a dedicated QMAP caregiver for 8-hour shifts (6AM-2PM, 2PM-10PM, 10PM-6AM) to assist residents in a Rocky Mountain Assisted Living home in Colorado. The role requires current QMAP, 1st Aid and CPR, and at least 1 year of eldercare experience.

Candidates must be able to lift 30 pounds, read and write in English, and work 12-hour shifts with breaks. Training and compliance with RMAL policies are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living per care plan.

• Administer routine medications per Colorado State Health Department regulations and RMAL policies.
• Communicate changes in resident condition to House Manager and Directors.
• Follow activity calendar and conduct at least one activity per shift.
• Report items running low to House Manager.
• Perform housekeeping to keep home clean and tidy.
• Participate in orientation, training, and in-service programs.
• Document in care logs and MAR before leaving shift.
• Maintain positive professional attitude with families, physicians, and staff.
• Follow safe food practices and menu communications.

JOB SUMMARY:

A person who is specifically trained, competent and performs assigned functions as a Caregiver in Rocky Mountain Assisted Living homes under the direction, instruction and supervision of Rocky Mountain Assisted Living House Manager, Wellness Director, Resident Care Coordinator and Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

This position requires frequent physical activity during a 12-hour shift.

QMAP/Caregivers must be able to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods*, often up to 10-12 hours with breaks.

• Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as part of daily resident care.

• Assist residents with transfers, including supporting weight-bearing and non-weight-bearing individuals with or without mechanical lift equipment.

• Push and pull wheelchairs, transport carts, and assistive devices.

• Lift up to 30 pounds independently and more with team assistance when required.

• Navigate between rooms, hallways, and outdoor areas frequently throughout the day.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists residents with activities of daily living (such as showering, using the bathroom, getting into and out of bed, getting into and out of chairs, etc.) in accordance with resident's care plan and RMAL policies and procedure.

• Understands, adheres to, and promotes RMAL policies and procedures.

• Understands, adheres to, and promotes Resident Rights

• Administers routine and PRN medications in accordance with Colorado State Health Department regulations and Rocky Mountain Assisted Living policies.

• Communicates directly with assigned house manager, wellness director, and director of resident care. This includes but is not limited to reporting changes in resident condition.

• Follows activities calendar, prepares, and conducts activities. Ensures a minimum of one activity is being completed each shift.

• Reports all items that are running low in the home to the House Manager.

• Performs housekeeping duties throughout home. Ensures the home is clean and tidy at all times. This includes but is not limited to room cleans, daily and as needed bed making, trash removal from resident rooms and common areas every shift and as needed, cleaning the common areas and bathrooms and the kitchen between each meals and as needed.

• Participates in all required orientation, training, competency, and in-service programs as scheduled and necessary per RMAL policy.

• Documents in the 24-hour communication log, activity log, and MAR prior to leaving every shift. Documents in a professional and objective manner.

• Maintains a positive and professional attitude while representing Rocky Mountain Assisted Living during interactions with families, physicians, outside vendors and other employees.

• Adheres to safe food practices (including appropriate food temperature) while preparing scheduled meals. Follows weekly menu when preparing all meals. Communicates with the house manager when there are issues related to the menu such as food supply shortages, recipe availability, and family or resident concerns with meals.
