Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist - MRSS

Job Description Summary: Supports mobile crisis response to facilitate crisis intervention with children and families. Assists with managing psychiatric and behavioral health concerns across various settings. Provides skill building, psychoeducation, support, linkage, and referral interventions to promote resilience, independence, and stabilization of youth and families following a crisis.

Overview

3 - 12-hour shifts.

Essential Functions:
  • Supports licensed providers in culturally appropriate crisis-oriented triage, assessment, and mental health screenings via mobile response.
  • Facilitates crisis interventions, care coordination, safety planning, and therapeutic interventions under licensed clinician guidance. Provides follow-up and completes documentation.
  • Collaborates with youth and families to implement treatment plans, coordinate care with other providers, and perform physical outreaches as needed.
  • Provides short-term case management support during stabilization, monitoring symptoms, stressors, risk levels, and safety planning.
  • Assists in building skills, accessing resources, and supports to prevent future crises. Ensures smooth transition to long-term providers with a comprehensive transition plan.
  • Maintains current training and knowledge in relevant areas.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • QBHS certification to be obtained upon hire.
  • Completion of NCH endorsed Crisis Management Training upon hire.
Skills:
  • Experience in behavioral health interventions and case management for children and adolescents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills.
  • Sensitivity, empathy, professionalism, and sound judgment.
  • Family-centered care principles.
Experience:

One year of crisis-based mental health services with children and adolescents preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Occasional, frequent, and continuous physical activities as detailed, including lifting, reaching, sitting, walking, and use of computer and communication devices.
