Job summary

Qnity is seeking a motivated Environmental Specialist to join our Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) team in Dayton, Ohio. This role offers hands‑on experience in environmental compliance within a manufacturing environment, supporting regulatory programs, reporting, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives while developing technical expertise in air, water, and waste compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Chemistry or related field.
  • Superior technical writing abilities.
  • Basic understanding of environmental regulations (air, water, waste).
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors, co-workers, and other professionals.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and regulators.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience (including internships or co-ops).
  • Familiarity with environmental data tracking or reporting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support compliance with environmental regulations, including air, water, and hazardous waste programs.
  • Assist in managing the POTW permit, including sampling coordination and monthly reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with SPCC and Groundwater Protection Program (GWPP) requirements.
  • Lead ISO 1401 environmental management system activities.
  • Complete TRI and Tier II reporting data collection and preparation.
  • Maintain accurate environmental records and assist with regulatory reporting.
  • Participate in routine inspections, housekeeping audits, and Gemba walks.
  • Support and/or Lead environmental and LOPC investigations.
  • Assist in reviewing documentation for environmental considerations in capital projects.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the production floor to promote compliance.
  • Attend daily production meetings to stay aligned with operations.
  • Maintain the SDS system, including review of new chemicals.
  • Support compliance related to specialized equipment (e.g., X-ray devices).
  • Support sustainability reporting and data tracking.
  • Contribute to environmental performance improvements and waste reduction initiatives.

Qnity is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Specialist to join our Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) team in Dayton, Ohio.

This role is ideal for an early-career professional looking to gain hands‑on experience in environmental compliance within a manufacturing environment. The Environmental Specialist will support regulatory programs, reporting, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives while developing technical expertise in air, water, and waste compliance.

Key Responsibilities;
Compliance & Program Support
  • Support compliance with environmental regulations, including air, water, and hazardous waste programs
  • Assist in managing the POTW permit, including sampling coordination and monthly reporting

  • Contribute to environmental performance improvements and waste reduction initiatives
Qualifications;
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Chemistry or other related degree from an accredited program
  • Superior technical writing abilities.
