Job summary

Texas Mental Health & Behavior is seeking a Qualified Mental Health Professional – Community Services (QMHP-CS) to deliver skills training in home, school, or community settings for adults and children facing depression, anxiety, and behavioral challenges. Flexible, field-based role with travel to client sites.

You will provide crisis intervention, maintain compliant records in the EHR, and collaborate with families and systems to support independent living skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent licensure as listed in the minimum qualifications.
• Two years of full-time experience providing therapeutic services is acceptable.
• CANS 3-6, 6-17 & ANSA certifications are required or could be substitute qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver skills training in home, school, or community settings using evidence-based practices aligned with service plan goals.
• Provide crisis intervention services through in-person, phone, or on-call support with crisis hours documented.
• Document client services and progress in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in compliance with state regulations.
• Build therapeutic rapport with clients and families, using active listening and engagement.
• Maintain clear records, including progress notes and service tracking.
• Collaborate with supervisors, courts, probation, schools, and partners to meet client needs.
• Assist clients with independent living skills such as budgeting and time management.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
