Job summary

The Oregon Department of Corrections is seeking a Behavior Health Specialist 2, QMHP Limited Duration (Ontario) to join our general population behavioral health team at Snake River Correctional Institute.

The role identifies mentally ill and developmentally disabled individuals, conducts mental status exams, suicide assessments, and develops treatment and risk management plans within a 24/7 correctional setting.

Qualifications

• Must meet minimum QMHP qualifications and be eligible for state licensure where required.
• Graduate degree or QMHP certification criteria must be met at hire.
• Experience in correctional or high-security settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Initial identification/assessments of mentally ill or developmentally disabled individuals within the institution.
• Crisis intervention and suicide risk assessment.
• Case management and development of treatment, behavior, and risk management plans.
• Records management and release planning.
• Consultation and staff training; group facilitation.
