PRN Positions Available
The position of the Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) exists to provide routine medication administration and personal care for residents to ensure the highest quality resident care at all times.

Qualifications, Knowledge/Skills & Abilities
- High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or be eligible to enter such a program and pass a state test within 120 days from employment.
- Understanding of medication administration procedures and successful completion of a state approved training course.
- Ability to perform basic math functions.
- Understanding of resident care procedures and standards.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Prior healthcare experience is desirable.
- Ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family, visitors, and others.
- Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and willingness to handle difficult residents.
- Willingness to incorporate new methods into nursing practices.
- Ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up and administer medication according to physician’s orders and regulations.
- Know side effects, interactions, and nursing implications of medications.
- Account for controlled drugs each shift and report discrepancies.
- Chart medication administration, omissions, PRN medications, and observations.
- Maintain medication inventory.
- Assist with rounds with nurses and physicians.
- Prepare monthly medication records.
- Provide personal care and treatment for residents.
- Perform basic nursing care functions.
- Create a safe, comfortable environment for residents.
- Maintain resident documentation for daily activities and care plans.
- Attend training and educational programs to maintain certification.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Follow departmental, center, and corporate policies and standards.
