Required Experience for Medication Aide QMA Licenses Required High School Diploma or GED required Must have aptitude for dementia related situations Must be at least 18 years of age Must have a TB clearance

Responsibilities for Medication Aide

Prepare and administer medication and treatments as ordered by physician in accordance with policy and proceduresVerify identity of resident before administering medication or treatmentFollow hand washing policy for medication passing universal precautions and infection controlOrder mediations supplies and equipment as necessary in accordance with established policyRemove expired or discontinued medications for cart and resident apartments as required in accordance with established procedureEnsure medication records are accurate for your shift and keys are always accounted forReview medication sheets for completeness and accuracyReport all discrepancies noted concerning physicians orders medication count or any other unusual situations and complaints regarding resident services and care to your immediate supervisorChart and perform documentation duties are required in accordance with community policy and proceduresAssist in admit transfer and discharge of residents as requestedReview charts for specific treatment medication diet orders etc as neededNotify nurse in charge of changes in resident condition including medication and treatment refusalMake sure work areas medication and treatment cart medication room nurses station etc are maintained in a clean sanitary mannerAlways show courtesy respect and positive attitude to residents familys visitors and associatesReport accidents and incidents observed on the shift they occurredReport suspected abuse immediatelyDocument important events in the 24 hour reportAssist with activities of daily livingEncourage the Social development of each residentAssist with light housekeeping including emptying the trash and changing linensEscort residents to and from dining areas for meals; assist with tasks related to dining as neededPerform any duties delegated by supervisor in order to maintain the self respect personal dignity and physical safety of each resident while adhering to the standards of Residents Rights and all applicable state Federal and local licensing requirements and regulations Not Just Making Every Day Great Making Every Minute Great There are 1440 minutes in every single day We aspire to make each one of them an exceptional moment This philosophy is supported by our 6 powerful yet simple pillars Dream Big Have Courage Take Initiative Be Accountable Give Back & Enjoy it We strive to fulfill the aspirational yet unattainable goal of creating the absolute best experience with every person in every interaction every minute of every day This classification description is intended to indicate the general kinds of tasks and levels of work difficulty that are required of positions given this title and should not be construed as declaring what the specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position shall be It is not intended to limit or in any way modify the right of any supervisor to assign direct and control the work of the employees under herhis supervision The use of a particular expression or illustration describing duties shall not exclude other duties not mentioned that are of a similar kind or level of difficulty
