Job summary

Owen Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to deliver compassionate resident care under nursing and medical staff supervision. The role centers on safe medication administration, recording vital signs, and following physician orders while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The position emphasizes direct resident care, teamwork with CNAs, and adherence to community policies.

Qualifications

• QMA Certificate in good standing on file with the Department of Health.
• Minimum one year of long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record residents’ vital signs and weight.
• Openly document medications administered per physician orders.
• Follow HIPAA privacy and confidentiality policies and participate in drills.
• Perform treatments not requiring licensed nursing such as vital signs and hot/cold applications.
• Observe and report medication effects and adverse events.
• Provide direct resident care and act as CNA when not administering meds.
• Maintain courteous professional relationships with residents, visitors, and staff.
• Complete tasks assigned by the supervisor.
