Job summary

Creekside Health and Rehabilitation in Indianapolis is seeking a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to provide medication administration and daily resident care in our skilled nursing facility.

The QMA administers medications as ordered, documents in the medical record, maintains the locked medication cart, and supports safety and privacy for residents during evening and night shifts. We offer tuition reimbursement, life insurance, medical/dental/vision, profit-sharing and more.

Qualifications

• Must be certified by the Indiana State Department of Health as a CNA in good standing.
• Must have completed a state approved training program in medication administration and have current QMA certification.
• Have a thorough understanding of the principles of safe effective nursing practices within the State of Indiana
• A high school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Provide medication administration and daily care, ensuring resident safety and comfort.
• Administer and document oral, eye, topical, suppository medications as ordered.
• Perform treatments on minor skin conditions per physician orders.
• Maintain locked medication cart and medication keys according to facility policy.
• Check catheters frequently and provide catheter care as assigned by the nurse.
• Document all medications and treatments in the medication record and in the nurses notes according to policy.
• Maintaining the confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure residents rights and privacy are protected at all times.
• Performing other duties as assigned by staff nurse or designee

• The QMA is responsible for providing the medication administration, daily care, health needs, safety and comfort of the residents.
• QMA’s administer and document oral medications, eye medications, topical medications, suppository medications, ear drops and all others as ordered by the physician
• Perform treatments on minor skin conditions per physician orders
• Maintain locked medication cart and medication keys according to facility policy
• Check catheters frequently and providing catheter care as assigned by the nurse
• QMA’s will document all medications and treatments given in the medication record and in the nurses notes according to policy
• Maintaining the confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure residents rights and privacy are protected at all times
